Can hemolyzed whole blood specimens be used for testing?
No, they can not. Hemolyzed whole blood specimens would make the background darker, and hence influence final testing results.
What should I pay attention to when performing the hCG test?
For strip products, please use a dry and clean container to hold urine specimens, and then dip the strip into the urine for at least 10-15 seconds. Do not pass the MAX line marked in the strip label. After urine reached the control region of the test, please take the strip out of the specimen, and place it on a non-absorbent flat surface.

For device products, please use the disposable pipettes provided in the kit to transfer enough specimens into the specimen well (S) of the test. Do not drop any liquids in the result window.

For midstream test, you can either expose the absorbent stick to the urine stream, or follow the instruction for strip.

First morning urine is recommended for testing, because it gets the highest hCG concentration. Urine collected at other time of the day could also be used.
How should I perform the LH strip test?
The procedure for the LH strip test is similar to that of the hCG strip test. However, please do not use first morning urine, or first urine after sleeping, as this might influence final results. For best result, you should test around the same time each day.
How should I use the buffer provided in the kit?
Please follow the package insert carefully. In general, buffer should be added immediately after specimens are dropped. Be careful with the buffer volume.
What is the function of buffer solution? Can buffer be interchanged and used among different products?
Buffer can help migration, stabilize the reaction environment, and shield non-specific binding. However, some buffer solutions are designed to serve certain other purposes, and thus please do not interchange or use buffer from different products, as it might affect the final result.
Can buffer solution be replaced by 0.9% sodium chloride, distilled water, anticoagulants or other similar solutions? What will happen if I use too much or too little buffer?
No, the buffer solution should not be replaced by other solutions, as solution formulas are particularly designed to improve products’ performance. If buffer were missed when testing, there exist a possibility that migration problem in some degree may occur. On the other hand, if too much buffer were added, the concentration of aiming substances might decrease to a level that is below cut-offs of products, and thus affect the accuracy.
What should I take care of when storing tests and specimens?
If tests, buffer solutions, and/or specimens had been stored in refrigerators, please bring them to room temperature prior to testing. Do not open the pouch till they are equilibrate to the room temperature. Otherwise, the test might be become damp, and test results would be affected. We do not recommend storing pouch-open or canister-open products in refrigerators with high levels of humidity.
What will happen if I add too much or too little specimens?
Too large or too small specimen volume would both affected the final results. Therefore, please use only the pipettes provided along with kits, and read package inserts carefully before performing tests.
How many tests can one person perform at the same time?
This varies according to the skill levels of operators. However, we do not recommend more than 5 tests be performed at the same time, even with very skilled professionals.
Should we still consider a drop of specimen, which contains bubbles inside, as a full drop?
No, care should be taken to ensure that bubbles are not trapped in specimens.
