Benzodiazepine urine drug test is a
one-step, lateral flow test designed to qualitatively
identify benzodiazepine abuse by detecting oxazepam in
human urine at a cut-off level of 300 ng/ml.
Benzodiazepines are sedative, hypnotic and anti-anxiety
drugs commonly used as tranquilizers. Most members of
the Benzodiazepine family are detectable for 1-2 days;
Oxazepam, a common metabolite of many benzodiazepines,
may remain detectable in urine for up to one week.
Therefore, oxazepam is a useful marker of benzodiazepine
abuse. The Benzodiazepine urine drug test provides
qualitative screening results and is for use by
healthcare professionals only. A more specific alternate
chemical method must be used in order to obtain a
confirmed analytical result. The test is available in
cassette and dip strip formats, with the option of being
included in the multi-drug screen test. |
